The Lyrics

One of two pre-election (2008) songs I wrote. I wish I'd found this site sooner!
I used to be Barry
but now I’m Barack
And though expertise and
experience I lack
my media sycophants
all have my back
‘cuz we’re Marxists and we
never waver
I’m the idol they built and
my temple is packed
“Oh Barack, please be our Savior”

You folks may have heard in
my youth I used dope
But then I saw life
through a much broader scope
I now preach a message
of “Change” and of “Hope”
‘cuz it’s gullible smiles
that I savor
I’m runnin’ for Prez
but I may try for Pope.
I’m Barack, I’ll be your Savior

The church I attended
for twenty years straight
is led by a man who
exemplifies hate
His IQ would double
if he’d defecate
And yet nobody minds
his behavior
He knows I’ll need votes from
all fifty seven states
or Barack won’t be your Savior .

I’ve made more big gaffes than
a drunk Ken-ne-dy
And I doubt that John Kerry
could out flip-flop me
With no TelePrompters
I’m G.W.B.
Yet I still have the
media’s favor
It’s like somebody gave them
a lo-bot-om-y.
That’s how I’ll… end up your Savior

You typical white folks
who call me a fraud
and bitterly cling to
your guns and your God
When I get elected
they’ll both be outlawed
& Hist’ry may call
me a traitor
’Cuz against the US I’m
declaring Jihad
I’m Barack, your new dictator.

Outstanding! Captures that feel of old-time protest. Marvelous use of rhyme. Best parody of the day.

Clever use of OS.

Very well-written, but completely wrong. Like the screen-name, though. It's a hell of a name.

OK, obviously I'm a noob here, but how did I get such a low grade for pacing? I would understand if you didn't think it was funny, but I matched Dylan's pacing almost 98% of the time. Just curious...

A 4 isn't a "low" grade for pacing. Some folks will only award a 5 if pacing is seamless.

Told ya I was a noob. I misread the charts.

Nicely done and very topically funny. I'll vote for 5-5-5.

Concur with alvin on this. As a note to many political parodists on amiright, this is an example of how you can state your viewpoint in parody and have it be funny instead of hate-filled.

Really liked the "IQ would double if he'd defecate" line.
