The Lyrics

OK, this was a probably a pretty bizarre idea ... but consider the source, eh? The notion was simply to meticulously retain all the original song's end rhymes --- ham-handed as many of them are -- withn an entirely unrelated lyrical context. As it happens, the entirely unrelated lyrical context here chosen simply reiterates (and I guess thereby renders redundant) these pprefatory remarks. :-)
"Bob's Rhymes I'm Nott changin'"

Come gather ‘round friends, keep readin’, don’t roam,
No matter how irked e’re this ends you have grown.
Affect the resolve of a dog with a bone
Tho’ your time it be wastin’ not savin’.
When you’re done give it ones*, let it sink like a stone,
But note Bob’s rhymes I’m not changin’.

I should be shut up in some in parodists’ pen
For a song whose whole scheme’s simply usin’ again
Dylan’s own line-end rhymes with a different spin.
For this nonsense you’ll likely be namin’
Old Stan a big loser and no 5’s I’ll win
Altho’ Bob’s rhymes I’m not changin’.

I’ll blame not a bit those commenters who’ll call
This cock-eyed conceit my most hokey of all
And who’ll say my idea-mill truly has stalled –
If they’re still readin’ they may be ragin’,
But even while banging their heads on their walls
Must grant Bob’s rhymes I’m not changin’.

As penance perhaps I should be first to land
On the vote-button here with all 1s. ** Understand,
That I hate being thumped, but if I’d command
Any future respect as I’m agin’
To the just hick’ry stick I must offer my hand,
And keep Bob’s rhymes never changin’.

If you’re still with me, friends, this lifeline I now cast:
The end of this drivel is comin’ up fast,
There’s less left to come than we’ve left in the past
(and of that maybe memory’s fadin’)
This parody's next line now ends it it last
Without Bob's rhymes ever chagin’.
© Stan Hall * If you absolutely must. ** But I won't, even tho' even _I_ think this one's an eye-roller. :-)
