The Lyrics

A prequel to the original?
They say every man can be disgraced
with black-and-white cars drawing near.
And they remember every face
on mug shots that they took this year.

I see those lights come flashing
down Route 27 East.
In a minute, trouble, in it.
I shall be policed.

They say service and protection
is what they do while walking tall.
But I swear, that their direction
is, "Hey, pal, up against that wall!"

I see interrogating
about how liquor store got fleeced.
And their mission, me in prison.
I shall be policed.

Now, standing next to me in this lonely crowd
is a guy who played the football game.
He says, "Watch out what evidence allowed.
You might just escape being framed."

I see the jury saying
"Go lock up that guilty beast!"
My attorney, man, he burned me.
I shall be policed.
Rest in peace, Johnnie Cochran. The narrator probably couldn't have afforded you, anyway.

Great job, MP! I just watched "The Last Waltz" last night so this OS is fresh in my mind.
