Parody Song Title:

"Middle-Aged Biker"

Parody Written by:

Alan Douglas

The Lyrics

Drives a Volvo on his long commute
All his clients see him in a business suit
Doing ev'rything responsibly
They would never guess that now he wants to be a
Middle-Aged Biker, Middle-Aged Biker

Getting older, he could feel the time
Moving faster than his middle-aged hairline
Emptied little Johnny's college fund
Bought a big fat Harley so he could become a
Middle-Aged Biker, Middle-Aged Biker

Middle-Aged Biker....

Always careful with his stocks and bonds
But he took the road without a helmet on
Had to practice so he went alone
Just an hour or so before he'd be back home
Middle-Aged Biker, Middle-Aged Biker

Stopped to rest along a country lane
When the bike fell over, trapped his leg in pain
Called for help but no one was about
Couldn't move the bike, he had to wait it out
Middle-Aged Biker, Middle-Aged Biker

Nearing dark he finally sees the van
Of a news reporter and a cameraman
Interviewing him, they stood above
They would win a prize for their story of a
Middle-Aged Biker, Middle-Aged Biker

Middle-Aged Biker...

Nah. Thumbs down... though you do get credit for not turning this into an anti-Kerry parody. He's also a middle-aged biker. As opposed to Bush who fell off his bicycle. (Yeah, I know, Kerry's virtual twin, Jed Bartlet, did it in the "West Wing" pilot, but that's just a TV show. Get a life, will ya, people!)

JMJ You did good job presenting the story. I thought it was a little bit of a downer at the end, though, but you saved yourself with the alst stanza. A better parody would be on those real middle-aged bikers who never grew up. Dude! Your bald! You have white hair! You're a grandfather six times already! Cut your hair and stop following Skynyrd around already!

Bummer--lost nine "three-fives" votes when the data went down the tubes, then the tough critics showed up! Oh well, it's still fun.
