The Lyrics

I... I'm fond of phonics that float on air
And the way they waft like weightless women's wear
I'm... celebrating the simple sound
Of persistent and percussive pleasant pounds

...I'm lovin' alliteration...
...It's givin' me great gyrations... (a... 'lit-'lit, 'lit-er-a-tion...)
...I'm jumpin' in jubilation...('lit'lit 'lit-er-a-tion)
...linguistical levitation... ('lit'lit 'lit-er-a-tion)
...I'm filled with a fascination... ('lit'lit 'lit-er-a-tion)
...For verbalized validation... ('lit'lit 'lit-er-a-tion)
...Exacting an education... ('lit'lit 'lit-er-a-tion)
...While workin' at my workstation... ('lit'lit 'lit-er-a-tion)

Sen-ten-ces... with certain simple sounds
That repeat and really roll around,
Sig-...nal ci-vi-li-ty...
And phonetic focus frequently is found

...A tin-kle of ti-til-la-tion...
...Al-lit-er-al lu-bri-ca-tion...
...Syn-tac-ti-cal sa-li-va-tion...
...For fon-dl-ing firm pho-na-tions...

...Pho-net-i-cal fi-bril-la-tion...
...Rhe-to-ri-cal re-ve-la-tions...
...Lin-guis-ti-cal le-vi-ta-tion...
...It's ex-cel-lent ex-ci-ta-tion...

[irritating instrumental interlude]

... take the time to tra-vel to... Tai-wan or Ti-bet or Tex-as...
... and al-lit-er-a-tion... will flow forth -- the feel's infectious...

'lit... 'lit... 'lit... 'literation... (Al-lit-er-al lu-bri-ca-tion...)
'lit... 'lit... 'lit... 'literation... (Syn-tac-ti-cal sa-li-va-tion...)

[...la-la-la-la-la...la-la-la...]
[...la-la-la-la-la...la-la-la...]
[...la-la-la-la-la...la-la-la...]

Laughingly lovely. A cohesive cacophony. Witty wordplay

Great series you've got going. How about epistrophe, anaphora, assonance, litotes, synecdoche, etc.

William Safire would approve. The former New York Times columnist got his start writing speeches for President Nixon and Vice President Agnew. He came up with "the nattering nabobs of negativism," "the professional pessimists," "the troubadours of trouble," and "the 4-H Club, the Hopeless, Hypocritical Hypochondriacs of History." He may also have been the first to use the phrase "the prophets of gloom and doom," which only rhymes rather than alliterates. I suspect, since Safire is Jewish, it was the Catholic Pat Buchanan, also a Nixon-Agnew speechwriter-turned-columnist Pat Buchanan who came up with "the vicars of vacillation."

I knew everyone would be doing it, (see Rex's comment) so I snuck in there quick. You have plenty of thunder, Ash. We can steal a little.

An Austrian Army, artfully arrayed, boldly by battery beseiged Belgrade.....a poem I memorized in the 5th grade, which taught me the power of alliteration, which is displayed magnificently here. Superb. Extreme high 5's

I would like to see the full poem which begins with: "An Austrian army artfully arrayed Boldly by battery beseiged Belgrade" I have been searching for this for some time and this is the only link I have come across. If anyone can lead me to the full version, I will be greatly obliged.

Meh. Cute, but vastly overrated.
