"Lucre Lucre"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Dedicated to Mr. Scrooge, a wonderful caring generous man. IF you get to the end of the book! Of course, it didn't matter what he did with his last years, all he's remembered for is being a miser and hating Christmas. (He should see it now, that would swing him back to his old ways real quick. And if he took a gander at Tiny Tim.......)
Lucre, ah money money
You are my folding green
And you've got me spending you
Money, ah lucre lucre
You are what we all dream
Getting so much more of you

I just can't believe the ugly names they're calling you
"Root of all evil" -not true
I just can't believe all of the things you let me do
Buying everything all new

Lucre, ah money money
You are my folding green
And you've got me spending you
Money, ah lucre lucre
You are what we all dream
Getting so much more of you

When I got a job, I knew how great a buck can be
Know how great that pay can be
Suddenly those girls were flocking to come over me
Showed me good old A and T

Lucre, put a little interest on that money
Put a little lucre on me, baby
I'm gonna have a life of greed
Yeah yeah yeah
Throw a little moolah at me, oh yeah
Put a little tax break on my money
Get me some more lucre for me, baby

(Oh Magoo, you've done it again...)

Mr. Magoo's was my favorite version of "A Christmas Carol". This one definitely deserves some 5-spots.

Ohh... and here I thought maybe it would be about Cosmic Encounter. I really ought to find a way to do a parody of that.

A very humorous parody, but I'm going to have to re-read "A Christmas Carol." I thought Scrooge was more into hording money than spending it on "A and T."

Nice job, Rick - but didn't Suzanne Vega already have a hit that went something like: "My name is Lucre - I live on the second floor...".

Veronica - Ah, you peasants dream about cash and being rich, but luckily, Daddy and I are rich! Haha! Lodges are the best!

YWN - Well done. 5/5/5.

Rick - I actually like this one a bit better than JB's, although they both are good. I hadn't weighed in or voted on this before so I''m glad you gave us the link. I was up North on vacation when you originally put this one up. Good job. 5's.
