The Lyrics

I wrote a lot of songs about the Curse of the Bambino, and it came to an end. Coincidence? Probably. Maybe if I write enough songs about how Alex Rodriguez chokes in the clutch, he'll stop, and actually help the Yankees win a Pennant. Why not, writing "Use Two Hands!" has worked wonders for Melky Cabrera. Alan Alch co-wrote the theme from "Branded" (1/65-9/66) with Dominic Frontiere, and sang it in one of the all-time classic show openings, with star Chuck Connors literally being drummed out of the U.S. Army in the Old West for cowardice, except, "He was innocent, not a charge was true, but the world will never know..."
All but one man hit
in the ninth last night.
And he gave the game away...

Stranded!
Three men were left on base!
What do you do when you've stranded
and you don't have a case?

He is overpaid.
Yes, the charge is true.
And the world will let him know...

Stranded!
Booed there by every fan!
What do you do when you're stranded
when you should be The Man?

Wherever you go
for the rest of your life
you must prove...

You're The Man!

Stranded!
Clutch is a thing unknown!
What do we do when he's stranded
and he stands all alone?

Of this guy A-Rod
and our team that lost
it is hard to speak the truth!

Stranded!
That's not the way to play!
What do you do when you're stranded
on yet another day?

Stranded!
"Branded" would be a good idea for a revival, replacing the Old West (about 80 years before the show's "present") with the Korean War and the McCarthy period (about 50-60 years ago) and accusations of Communist sympathizing with a former hero soldier. But the Bush cabal would never allow a depiction of people who think like them to be shown on TV as "the real enemy." As for me, who drives me crazier, Bush or A-Rod? Well, they both screwed up with the Texas Rangers and ruined my autumn 2004, and neither can ever win in New York...

You pitched three strikes with this one, Michael and I'm pitching you three fives. A-Rod will be back though. He's too good to be down for long. Manny Ramirez just went 0 for 11 in 3 games (in which they were swept) against the Twins.
