Song Parodies -> "VP Way"

Original Song Title:

"VE-Day"

Original Performer:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

Parody Song Title:

"VP Way"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

V’s for VIP, well, maybe near,
P’s for president, more than VEEP’s peer,
W’s for wishes he were here,
A’s for alternative, if pres. is on a bier,
Y’s for yesterday’s bore, post one or two terms of four.

After two, can’t do no more.

VP way’s meant to be number 2,
VP way: you ain’t got much to do.
After the pres. steppin’; ceremonial chores schleppin’,
unless running things are you.

V’s for vampire that was holding sway,
P’s for pres. Renfield, told what to say,
W weren’t worried, though his mind was blurry,
A’s for antechamber where the coffin rests by day,
Y’s for yahoo or a yellow hawk that hawked a war.

WMD: zero score.

VP way had veered and gone askew,
VP way changed number 1 to 2.
Massive power abuse that nearly cooked the country’s goose.
VP way had changed the rules.

VP way hijacked by ghoul;
fronting for him was a fool.
The VEEP was always bad news, as when his friend’s face he shot.
VP way has now resumed—
former one’s mainly entombed
in his lead-lined bunker room.

Replaced by the comics’ boon.

JAB - And the game continues. I'm often a little dense, but I do get who you mean. I believe that the actual term VEEP was first applied to my fellow Kentuckian Alban Barkley and may have been coined by his grandchild. ;D
