The Lyrics

In 1942 the Italians were starting to produce 5th Series aircraft equal to the Germans and the Allies. These were the Macchi C.202 Folgore, C.205 Orione, Fiat G.55 Centauro, and Regianne Re.2005 Sagittario. Goering signed a license agreement for the Fiat G.55, but with German modification to reduce production time. The G.55 would have taken double the time with FIAT assembly, but with a German engine replacement, slight mods to the airframe, and German armament, that time was cut down to 1/3rd of Me Bf 109 production time! The new G.56 Ochse (Ox) would be formidible with a DB 603 engine, supercharger, boosters, and up to 3x 30mm MK-103 or MK-108 armament, in upper and nose locations!!! The aircraft had normal landing gear too as opposed to the Bf 109s outward retracting type that casued 100s of accidents. So, this was a win-win for Germany. Unfortunately, the Italians signed an Armistice in 1943 and switched sides which invalidated the license agreement. Fiat G.55 production continued in N Italy for a while with rebel Italian AF working with the Germans. Had the G.56 been produced in numbers in 1943 it would have made a huge difference as it would have been able to climb to 42,000 ft unmatched and the highest speed of any fighter at 440 mph. It could easily out-turn and out-dive Allied rivals and had devastating armament of triple 30s replacing Italian MGs. Me Bf 109 production would have eventually been lowered as the next engine, the DB 605 would have been shared by both aircraft and the Ochse's speed would increase to well over 460 mph! A tough loss for the Luftwaffe. Kurt Tank of FW responded with the excellent Ta 152, but this came too late to change anything in the air war by '45.
Goering debating
if it was right or wrong
to trash the pilots saying:
“the Spitfire is much too strong!”

Just before 1943
License agreement is shared,
G.55 good news
Then Armistice and none to spare!

He signed for the Ochse, Ochse, Ochse
Was meant for the Luftwaffe,
plane for the Luftwaffe
Way to gain air-superiority
The Ochse, Ochse, Ochse

High speed to heights above
(take the heavies out)
MKs loaded up, it was tough
(breakin‘ up crowds)

High speed to heights above
(take the heavies out)
MKs loaded up, it was tough
(breakin‘ up crowds)

Up in the clouds
(MKs loaded up, it was tough)
OCHSE!!!
OCHSE!!!

G.56 appearing,
Daimler-Benz 603
With boosters, supercharger,
had 440 (mph) top speed!

Spits and Stangs would lose,
Out-turns, out-dives easily
Climbing to 42(k)- wow!,
In Germany there was this need

[Bf 109G]

He signed for the Ochse, Ochse, Ochse
Was meant for the Luftwaffe,
plane for the Luftwaffe
Way to gain air-superiority
The Ochse, Ochse, Ochse

High speed to heights above
(take the heavies out)
MKs loaded up, it was tough
(breakin‘ up crowds)

High speed to heights above
(take the heavies out)
MKs loaded up, it was tough
(breakin‘ up crowds)

Up in the clouds
(MKs loaded up, it was tough)
OCHSE!!!
OCHSE!!!

Zoom!
Hit-hit!
Zoom!
Hit-hit punch!
BOOM!

[Fortess and Lib doom]

He signed for the Ochse, Ochse, Ochse
Was meant for the Luftwaffe,
plane for the Luftwaffe
Way to gain air-superiority
The Ochse, Ochse, Ochse

High speed to heights above
(take the heavies out)
MKs loaded up, it was tough
(breakin‘ up crowds)

High speed to heights above
(take the heavies out)
MKs loaded up, it was tough
(breakin‘ up crowds)

OCHSE!!!

Up in the clouds
(MKs loaded up, it was tough)

Shoot bombers down!

Up in the clouds
(MKs loaded up, it was tough)

OCHSE!!!
