The Lyrics

Me and Kenny walked to the corner
And saw a police woman sitting up on top of her horse
Like a teenage fan, she had to gasp
Grabbed a pen, askin for our autographs
All mornin he'd been thinkin he wanted to ride
And he asked her to come down and let him have a try
She wanted to tell him it wasn't okay
But he just got on top of that horse and then he, he rode away

I don't know why they say grown men don't fight
I don't know why they say grown men don't fight

Looked down the street, saw a police force
Ten blocks down, and they're chasin that horse
They caught up at a stoplight, I'm watchin them knock him down
Then I run down the street, I fly into the mob, and I took two of them out
So many things he wants to say to them
But they just cuffed his hands behind his back, and I jumped in again.

I don't know why they say grown men don't fight
I don't know why they say grown men don't fight

I'm sitting here thinking of my wife
Faith has never been so embarrassed in her life
We're in jail and she's not here
She flew off for her song premiere
Then it's out the cell and off to court and Kenny says,
"You haven't heard my story yet."

And then all of the evidence disappears, just like that
The judge lifts her gavel off her desk and says,
"You're in the clear"

I don't know why they say grown men don't fight
I don't know why they say grown men don't fight
And I don't know why they say grown men don't fight
I don't know why they say grown men don't fight

(ABC05) DKTOS, and I assume comments were enabled after this was posted. Will my vote wipe out what is here? Need to know that before I vote.

Won't wipe out the votes. And yes, this is an old one (around the time Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw got arrested while riding some cop's horse...if you follow that sort of thing)

(ABC05) DKTOS, and I don't follow Country music to even understand the story. Sorry.

(ABC05) ditto on what Agri. said.

(ABC) Now THAT's a masculine, muscular, manly male parody!

(ABC) Have only heard this once on the radio since the inital post, and didn't have the parody near me. Unfortunately I don't follow such things.

(G) I like this. I hadn't heard the OS before tracking it down to get a listen for the contest. The OS doesn't sound like it would be an easy pacing to nail, either. Good work on this, Jeff.

Just like a woman, thinking of her career rather than bailing her man outta jail :-). Good job

(ABC05) Very well paced, Jeff. Good job here.555

(G) aah, just read your first comment Jeff, and it's starting to make more sense - I figured it was topical, but couldn't get a date because, as Red Ant pointed out, this must have been posted pre-comments (which is a good hint of itself)

(ABC) DKTOS or story, Jeff...so it's gone a bit over my head (which occurs quite often for me, I'm ashamed to say...)

(ABC) DKTOS, and with how much I loathe country music, I feel guilty even voting.
Ethan Mawyer - June 18, 2005 - Report this comment
DKTOSYA - YA = yet again. Was this based on a true story? because it would probably be funnier if it was. And if I knew the original.

ABC--I remember when all this went down. It was back before I was in love with Kenny. Stupid married bastard...

...Oh wait...about the parody...=) Great work, Jeff...I'm really surprised I haven't seen it before. (but its submission predates me, I think) Anyway...I totally L'ed OL at the Faith bit...=)

(ABC) I finally got a hold of a copy of the OS. Great job with this one!

Yes, it is good, isn't it?

(ABC-G) When did we go back to stealing horses instead of cars.
