The Lyrics

"Say, that reminds me of the time when I - " "Everything reminds you of that time, shaddup already!"
It's been hard to come to you lately
All the details seem to fade away
And here I am relieved 'cause I'm sick to my back teeth
Of how you won't stop with the same damn tale, geez

Pain, always work out a way to tie it in, man
To any topic at hand
It's so lame, it once was rad
That was before it became "that old story"
And now it hurts when I know what you're gonna say

I've been trying to tell you the nice way
That we do not need your ass to explain
How this moment once more makes you think of one part
So you must recall the whole thing and recount

Pain, sick of that sound "Reminds me of the time that - "
I know this may sound real bad
I can't wait 'til your brain's flat
And you plain forget that tale, that old story
No longer works the way it used to, I'm afraid, so lame

"Wait, can you then recall the whole thing yourself?" Hell no
I've blocked it from my brain, I hate that shite so

Pain when you come 'round, each conversation we have
Might make it worse
Pain when you come 'round, each conversation we have
Makes your brain work for the gap
To insert the same old crap
The first time might've been great, that old story
Lost the lustre, so I can't wait until it fades away
Sound like a jerk but you refuse to ease my pain

Is it just me or does the bridge of this song take a piano run from Take on Me?

I don't think it's a direct riff, but it does sound like Sunrise Avenue used the same kind of synthesizer as A-Ha did.

Maybe, but the specific up-and-down nature of it raised an eyebrow or two when I listened to it for the first time.
