The Lyrics

A little archaeological tale...hope you dig it
[instrumental intro]

I used to think it was just an old yarn
But this mummy is causing alarm
Now I'm certain I will come to harm
Accursed; King Tut - don't pry up his remains

Because that guy you dug up once held the thrown

The curse; Tut - best leave sleepin'
Leave him alone
Disturbed mummy comes creepin'
When he comes at you that mummy does lurch
You'll want to run right out of here into church

[brief instrumental break]

That chill haunts me; I've turned white
Tut's tomb freaks me out; I fear I will die
Now my future just doesn't seem bright
'Cause if I'm caught my life goes down the drain
Bye-bye!

Save me; he's rising once again now, oh-oh

Oh -
That curse just doesn't leave us
Quaking; I moan
Accursed Tut; Oh, dear Jesus
Now I'm trembling and in fright I'm immersed
Now I'm flipping out; my heart may soon burst

[instrumental break]

Yes, he'll haunt you 'cause he's riled
'Cause his resting place has now been defiled
And the vengeance that he takes won't be mild
You messed with Tut; you won't do that again

Mummy's alive again; my fear it does grow

Oh, no, oh
It seems nuts, but believe it
Mummy; he groans
Disturbed Tut; now it grieves us
'Cause a mummy's tomb should not be disturbed
When that's done he's sure to be perturbed

Oh, woe, oh
A hearse comes to retrieve us
Look out below!
Cursed by Tut; Rest in Peace, yes
Don't pry him up, my friend

Kristof - Me too - it's really a great song - did you know none other than a very young Cat Stevens wrote and recorded a version way back in the 60's? Stuart - yeah, it was fun to do...I was kinda partial to "It seems nuts, but believe it", just because it was a total switch but still worked with the main story-line.

Mer - Yup, Sheryl Crow...and I think her version is by far the best I've heard...plus she looks great in the video version...lol...
