The Lyrics

...no real explanation for this, other than I got bored. If you didn't know, Panic! At The Disco is signed to Fall Out Boy's record label, and they've suffered lots of criticism for sounding a lot like Fall Out Boy.
Well imagine, as I'm playing on the Nintendo Fusion Tour,
and I can't help but to hear, no I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words:
"What an awesome concert!" "What an awesome concert!" says a stoner to a hot girl
"And yes, but what a shame, what a shame that Panic! band's such a rip."

I'd chime in with a "haven't you people ever heard that plagiarism's hip?"
No, and last time I checked Fall Out Boy doesn't use techno in the background
I'd chime in with a "haven't you people ever heard that plagiarism's hip?"
No, and last time I checked Fall Out Boy doesn't use...

Well in fact, I mean look at it this way, if you like FOB well then you should like us too
Well you should just be happy we didn't rip off Brand New
Oh! Well in fact, I mean look at it this way, if you like FOB well then you should like us too
Well you should just be happy we didn't rip off Brand New, like we could do,

I'd chime in with a "haven't you people ever heard that plagiarism's hip?"
No, and last time I checked Fall Out Boy doesn't use techno in the background
I'd chime in with a "haven't you people ever heard that plagiarism's hip?"
No, and last time I checked Fall Out Boy doesn't use techno in the background.

Again...

Again...

Hmm...alot of people have said they sound really similair, but for some reason I think the two bands sound nothing alike [possibly because of the unique lyrics and the unique music?] The parody was quite funny, though. Enjoyed that quite a bit.

I'd chime in with a "haven't you people ever heard that plagiarism's hip?" No, and last time I checked Fall Out Boy doesn't use techno in the background That line cracked me up XD This is great, And only their vocals sound similar, Panic! is techno dance music and they're lyrics are entirely different, nice job.

What're you talking about? the band's music is uniquely individual. It's the frontman's voice that's ripping off Fall Out Boy's vocal reputation( still, I like them so here's the score: 545)

I was afraid I'd find something like this. I prefer Panic! to Fall Out Boy, but I liked 'Sugar We're Going Down.' They're both doing well in the same genre, I'm going to form solid opinions about both bands once I've seen them live. This was still a funny parody.
Tall SOB - July 26, 2006 - Report this comment
The first time I heard "I Write Sins, not Tragedies", I thought It was FOB but later I found out that it was Panic! I was like this band is way better than FOB especially because Sugar has piano in it. And all the Panic! music I've heard has techno in it. Panic! is basically a higher energy version of FOB. However, I gave it a 455 because the pacing was off in the chorus which was the funniest part of the song.

ok, im sorry for everyone who thinks FOB and P!ATD sound the same but..... they dont!!! ok if you break it down, you will find that they are totally and completely different.
Grace from LA - August 11, 2006 - Report this comment
First of all, despite the fact that both bands share similar characteristics, like long song titles, ambiguous lyrics, and similar sounding lead singers, the two bands are still growing into their own. Panic! is trying new concert gimmicks, and wearing costumes on stage. Their music is also more Las Vegas inspired... showgirls/caberet style. I like the line in the parody about plagiarism. Panic! plagiarises from Chuck Palahniuk's novels in quite a few of their song lyrics. They also directly quote from movies like Closer. Fall Out Boy also reads/watches books and movies a lot. The only thing I don't like about the parody lyrics is that the syllables of the words don't match the original, so when you try to sing it, it's out of sync.
panic beats FALL out BOY!!! - August 18, 2006 - Report this comment
well i think it it weird of course i dont have much of an opinoin cuz im just bored and i like typing but panic is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than FOB cuz there lyrics are more creative and awesome and i only know lke 2 of FOB's songs but i know all of PATD so yeah
