ABC--pretty funny stuff, Agri...and a great OS! I have to admit that I was pretty little when Carson was on the air...and I still thought he was a funny guy...when I could manage to stay up to watch him. The only time I can stand to watch Leno is when Misters Diesel or Bloom are guests...; )

hard OS, valient effort throughout and lots of memorable Carson-ism throughout. The 'Hey! Whoopee!' stanza and the 'Good stuff, Doc, thanks' stanza were excellent and worked really well with the OS. You kinda lost me with the 'Hey Yo' refrain, but still a very respectable job here, Agri.

This is a great OS to parody, A whole lotta fun! All I know about Johnny Carson comes from Weird Al's "Here's Johnny" but still a lot of fun.

(Artistry) Wow, this completely went over my head. I mean, all I know about Jay Leno is that he has a big chin, so this was definitely not the parody for me. Didn't help that there was the occasion pacing issue (particularly subbing in "Polaroid picture" for "playing golf"...yeah, that didn't work). Definitely not your fault here, but I just didn't get any of this.

Yeah, you have to be an American of a certain age to understand a lot of this one. I guess I should offer some explanations, better late than never-- "Carnac...answer to the question"--a recurring sketch would have Johnny as The Great Carnac, a psychic would could "guess" the answer to a goofy question before it was read. Joan Embry--a zoologist and representative of the San Diego Zoo who would present exotic animals. The cuter or more life threatening (to Johnny) the better. Jim Fowler--another noted zoologist who would appear with exotic animals. Jimmy Stewart--refs a famous appearance when the actor tearfully read a poem he wrote about his recently deceased, beloved pet dog. so hot--Johnny would often lead a joke of "The weather is so hot..." upon which the audience would sarcastically respond, "How hot is it?!" Stump The Band--Johnny interacted with the audience and solicited suggestions for Doc Severin's jazz band to play a song (which comically would usually end up not being the actual song). Wayland Flowers was a ventriloquist with a brassy, sassy older lady puppet named Madame. Jim Nabors, first appearing in "The Andy Griffith Show" became the star of "Gomer Pyle USMC" in the 60s and an amazingly fantastic pop singer. Charo is a Spanish-American singer, guitarist and dancer, ex-wife of bandleader Xavier Cugat, well known for her sexy attitude and shaking her, um, major assets while trilling, "Coochie Coochie!" Apparently still quite active in Vegas. golf swing--Johnny often closed his opening monologue with a triumphant "air" golf swing Floyd R. Turbo--a conservative, clueless character Johnny often played providing a misguided editorial on often pointless or complex political issues. Ed Ames--actor who provided an infamous knife-throwing demonstration that garnered one of the hugest and longest laughs in live TV history (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L5QC9ZJkM8). Cheers.
