The Lyrics

Well, this is apparently the high school experience. Being stuck in some bizarre love triangle with me, a guy who likes me, and a guy who I like. Funny how that works out. The guy who likes me asked me to homecoming, and I said yes because he said just as friends, though he's acting like I'm his date, and the guy I like would never like me back, unfortunately. Yeah... this all sucks.
I just want to spend the whole day in my bed
There's a cloud of misery above my head
I've been like this for so long
Trapped in this thing, it's called a love triangle

I like someone but we're just really good friends
Someone likes me but I'd never like them back
I've been hiding from my life
'Cause I can't take what's happening in it right now

[CHORUS:]
All I wanna do is find a way out of this angst
I just can't get through without a way out of this angst
Oh oh oh

Took three quizzes and they all said I'm in love
Sometimes I wonder if he's sent from above
Never felt this before
I really don't wanna love him but I do

The guy who likes me is my date to this dance
I wanna like him but I can't force myself
I still love this other guy
Is this what high school is all about?!

[CHORUS:]
All I wanna do is find a way out of this angst
I just can't get through without a way out of this angst
And if I try to get over him
I only end up falling more in love with him

There are moments when these feelings don't seem real
And I wish I didn't feel the way I feel
I need him to want me
Not to just fall for him from a distance

[CHORUS:]
All I wanna do is find a way out of this angst
I just can't get through without a way out of this angst
And if I try to get over him
I don't know if that's what I should do
And if I could get inside his mind
I could try and let go or love this feeling
If you think my lyrics are too melodramatic, then whatever. This is how I feel and I don't really care whether you feel sorry for me or not, in response to one nice comment I got on how the person didn't feel sorry for me even though that's not what I was trying to accomplish, but whatever.

I didn't know what to put for "how funny," but I thought it was actually a really honest song. The only minor flaw I thought of was the chorus. The angst of the chorus is maybe a little too obvious. Nice job, though. I bet almost anyone who's been through high school would nod at at least one line in your song.
