The Lyrics

I didn't realize how dire the OS is until I listened to it for this parody. I'd only ever heard the bit on the Coke ad, but the whole is almost unlistenable. But I'm prepared to make sacrifices for my art... and the "Gordon is a-coming" refrain was going round my head... There are one or two lines that are hard to phrase correctly - that comes from the OS, I'm afraid.
The bits in brackets are a sort of choral backing vocal.
(Gordon is a-coming...)
(Gordon is a-coming...)
Blair is stepping down
(Brown is in season 'cause Tony is leaving)

[Blair:]
In a world that's ever-changing
For ten years I've done my bit
There's a source of perspiration under there
Let the people dry their tears - it's time to quit

[Chorus:]
The New Labour dream of love and peace for everyone
One nation, united, no more "us" and "them"
The New Labour dream has kind of shattered, now it's gone
Let's try'n' forget his time as our PM
(Watch out - Gordon Brown)
(Gordon's coming, coming to town)
(Gordon is a-coming...)
(Gordon is a-coming...)
(Gordon is cheerful 'cause Tony is leaving)

[Blair:]
Now that int'rest rates are rising
There's more debt than e'er before
But our dreams and aspirations went astray
Losing lives in a stupid religious war

[Chorus:]
The New Labour dream of love and peace for everyone
Of swallowing spin and governmental shite
The New Labour dream died 'fore it even had begun
Could things only get better? Hell, not quite

(Gordon is a-coming)
(Gordon is a-coming)
(Finally a smile 'cause his dream's come true)
(Brown is in season 'cause Tony is leaving)

Celebrate as Tony leaves!
(Watch out - Gordon Brown!)

Gordon's coming - it's Gordon Brown
(Watch out - Gordon Brown!)

Gordon Brown - the new "New Labour" dream

[Chorus:]
The New Labour dream of love and peace and joy and fun
Of a national biometric database
The New Labour dream of ID Cards for everyone
Soon we'll have [a] totalitarian state

[Choirs:]
(hahaha....)
(hahaha....)
(Finally a smile - his dream's come true)
(Brown is the reason that Tony is leaving)

Well, I guess I realized that the OS wasn't terribly well-known (other than the Coke ad), but I can't see what's annoying enough in the parody to cause anyone to vote 1s.. I thought it was rather bland & inoffensive. Must have been a "hit and one"

The parody definitely is not bland, but I don't see why people should be offended since you are poking fun at both Blair and Brown. Well done, Phil.
