The Lyrics

Attention everyone across the nation.
There’s a good show I should mention.
And it’s called the Colbert Report.
Stephen Colbert is the host.
And the US admires him the most.

Do you know of this show?
And have you ever seen this guy perform?
In all truthiness, I think he’s cool.
Nation pay close attention now.
Stephen’s going to show you how.
And he’s quite the patriot.

Well, I know that you'll really love him.
Cuz he’s like a piece of Americana.
He’s like Elvis Presley or Superman.
Stephen, is the man, he certainly is.

Stephen’s spirit is what most US citizens lack.
When things get tough he just bites back.
He’s like a god sent down to Earth.
And every time his show comes on.

I start to sing

Stephen the All American Guy.
Inspiring us all every night.
With his trusty eagle by his side.
And his American spirit flying high.
Boy that Stephen, what a guy.
Boy that Stephen what a guy.

You should be well aware.
That he just doesn’t like bears.
He calls them furry death machines.
Well he is ever so full of beans.
Stephen’s inspirational, a powerhouse.
And there’s no one else like him.

With his raised eyebrow and his smirk.
He inspires all, all in a days work.
Nation, I think you should recognize.
Try Stephen’s show on for size.
And the three men I admire the most
Jay Leno, Stephen, and Jim Carrey.
Stephen inspires all, all the time.
When his show comes on.

I start to sing

Stephen the All American Guy.
Inspiring us all every night.
With his trusty eagle by his side.
And his American spirit flying high.
Boy that Stephen, what a guy.
Boy that Stephen what a guy.

I start to sing

Stephen the All American Guy.
Inspiring us all every night.
With his trusty eagle by his side.
And his American spirit flying high.
Boy that Stephen, what a guy.
Boy that Stephen what a guy.

I start to sing
I start to sing
I start to sing.

?? Nice tribute to Stephen Colbert, but I'm not convinced this even counts as a parody of 'american pie'. You were quite off pacing pretty much everywhere.

I like the Colbert Report and Stephen Colbert is so much funny, but I'm going to have to go with Glen S with this one! Pacing is off and awkward, not very singable, humor seems to be lagging! Parody needs work. Sorry.
