The Lyrics

2100TH PARODY, Y'ALL! And as is my tradition, I have taken a song I parodied back when I was stupid and inexperienced and re-parody along a vaguely similar topic. Last time I attempted to homage one of my favourite Britcoms. This time, let's switch up the series!
Uh (uh, uh)
Hah, hah, hah, hah
This is, this is, this is, this is, this is (uh, uh)
This is, this is
I get a lot of laughs, uh

I get a lot of laughs from ev'ry clip
Darlin', they're the Young Ones, Young Ones
Rarely a single damn joke that does not hit
Pause, rewind, play more, play more
There's just a ton of laughs in ev'ry clip
Darlin', they're the Young Ones, Young Ones
I think a pretty good place to start is Rick
Farewell, Rik Mayall, Mayall
Here we go

The manic, supposed anarachist, he's tryin'
But ev'ry claim is a lie, has a coward's hide
Thinks he's loved and liked, would be missed if he died
Proof in hands up in the air, to the floor, they dived
Such a whiner, so convinced he's so great
Poems aren't great, what a smug snake
Honestly, sometimes I do wonder (ooh-ooh)
Why anyone would want to room with him, he's a large tool
Rantin' 'bout Thatcher now
Won't last long, because POW! The butt monkey once more goes down
Always targeted by Vyvyan's violent freakouts
But can I say that he deserves it all? That's in doubt
No question that he's a prat, howitzer's quite unsound
It's a comedy, to cry "unfair"'s a weird take now
Laugh when he breaks down since he's such a putz
And then replay it, 'cause I love Young Ones

I get a lot of laughs from ev'ry clip
Darlin', they're the Young Ones (yes), Young Ones (hahaha)
Some good old eighties British sitcom-ness (whoo!)
Yes, darlin', they're the Young Ones, Young Ones (watch it, watch it, come on, uh)
I get a lot of straight-up laughin' fits (uh, uh)
From (yes) watchin' Young Ones (uh), Young Ones
Four students who get into random skits (blah, blah, blah, blah)
Yes, darlin', they're the Young Ones (uh), Young Ones
Next: Vyvyan, punk dude

Classic look with studded clothes and ringed nose
Don't take the girl's name for a hint that he's a softie, hell no
He'll take a cricket bat to your skull
No point in fightin' back (haha), because he's as weak as his scenes are dull
The VCR cord is too short? He'll push the whole wall in
And when he's sick, he'll go whole hog, Molotov cocktail it
No way that you can stop 'im
University Challenge fail? Drop a damn German grenade on 'em
No context, he sounds like a mean man
Hard to share tone inside this mean rap (mean rap)
Or then relate how I shook
With laughter at the part where he tore a sink up with a wild look (haha)
He'll smash things with reckless abandon
In the next episode, the set's undone all damage
Quick fun fact: each ep's music act
Is so the show has much more budget to account for that (uh, damn)

I get a lot of laughs from ev'ry clip
Darlin', they're the Young Ones, Young Ones (yeah)
Now I'm afraid I must skip
Mike, the cool one, because, because (ah-heh!)
He's the straight man, not as manic
So I have few thoughts, few thoughts (yeah)
So with the last verse, let's hippie-dip (uh, yeah)
Darlin', they're the Young Ones (ah-heh!)
Poor Neil, feel bad for you (yo)

The one flatmate one can pity (uh-huh), is no dick
Depressed refuge from the sixties (yeah), that's his whole schtick
First episode suicide, he lived a bit
Too long a rope for his gallows, somehow giggle fits
Come out flowin' like the river Nile (haha)
Somehow it's just so sad it flips around and is hilarious, no lie (whoo!)
Diet's all lentils
And despite the constant abuse from the other three, it's rare that he's not gentle (uh)
The contrast is vital
Mad one, cool one, sad one, prick with poem recitals
Interaction is sharp, they never sidle (yeah)
Up to how they don't care Neil's suicidal, ha, they're like "Die, you"
Hurts they don't care 'bout his birthday, that seems unfair (uh)
Then Neil goes on to mock Rick for crossdressin', revenge there (uh)
The one time poor old Neil's confident
Then he goes back to misery for more laughin' fits (ah-heh!)

I get a lot of laughs from ev'ry clip
Darlin', they're the Young Ones, Young Ones
Rewatchin' all twelve episodes of it
Yes, darlin', they're the Young Ones, Young Ones
I get a lot of laughs from ev'ry clip
Darlin', they're the Young Ones, Young Ones
It's so inventive, weird and manic and shit
Go give it a watch (ah-heh!)
That's my advice for you

I really need to do a new parody for Red Dwarf that's less shit. Also, the reason why the chorus says "darlin'" repeated is because of the theme song. Makes about as much sense as the rest of the show. Seriously, watch the show.

congrats on your 2100th! That truly is amazing, I got mad respect for ya! Keep them coming! It takes true talent to do what you do. I may not be fully familiar with all of your work, but you give parodists such as myself something to strive for
