Parody Song Title:

"Christmas Day"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Sorry this is late
Say, Hey!
We're shopping in every store
Getting' all our presents ready for Christmas
The day
We start is Black Friday

See the lights on our green tree
And the lights on the house and Christmas wreath
The lights
They are so bright , the neighbors have to cover their eyes

(*chorus*)
We've got the tree, and garland, we've got all the lights
We've got them morning , afternoon and at night
ON CHRISTMAS DAY!

We've got Santa and his sleigh out front
It says Ho Ho Ho, and Rudplph's nose
Neighbors
Complain that theyre going blind

Let's get a gingerbread man ( bread man! )
So we can have something with all of the cookies
And then
We also have some apple crisp

We've got the tree, and garland, we've got all the lights
We've got them morning , afternoon and at night
ON CHRISTMAS DAY!

"The residents in this house now have the floor"

Check out all these lights that have , man
Got more lights than our ornaments
Relatives get all excited
The lights are white like wonder bread
Our house is like Chevy Chase's
In the movie Christmas Vacation
Cant have more or there'll be fires
The pets may bite on all the light strands
They don't,, and we, Santa and reindeer out in front!

We've got the tree, and garland, we've got all the lights
We've got them morning , afternoon and at night
ON CHRISTMAS DAY!
This is our lives, on Christmas Day
2005 Jack Wilson

Ha! I swear I was gonna do "Christmas Day" to "Holiday" but didn't get around to it. I'm glad you did it. There are some nice details in here (I especially like the sheer randomness of "The lights are white like Wonder Bread") and I appreciate your nods to "Overdecorated." Also, Jack, you should check out the Dec 2 comment on my Odysseus parody.

This is good a little mispaced in a few areas as well as a few gramer errors, but I'm not an English teacher... Great job!!!

SOTM - There's no guarantee that it will still be there when you (whoever you are) read this, but I found an mp3 of the original song here:

[SOTM] Nice work. Maybe some Amiright artists can get together and make a Christmas album. This would be a definite track! And, of course, Spaff isn't included (He's got his own frikkin' Christmas Album!).

(SOTM) bob, did you happen to notice The Crazy Diamonds' Deck The Wall Christmas album this year which inlcuded Spaff, myself, MAtthias, and Red Ant? Jack, great parody, its enthusiasm is infectious. (I don't understand the last line in the last verse, but a minor quibble)

(SOTM) Ooh...I have seen those houses! Really liked the parody (Unfortunately, the midi didn't work)

What Spaff said. I promise, Jackie, I'll get to your Beatles parodies one of these days soon. By the way, I have now sent three different "Boulevard" parodies to Robert Lund, but I haven't gotten him to bite yet. I've got another one ready; maybe the fourth time is the charm.

(SOTM) nice addition to the Amiright Xmas Collection Jack - there really should be a Xmas category - and thanks for the LOL I got from remembering Chevy and his staple-gun

(SOTM) Well, a few missed rhymes but other than that very good. "The pets may bite on all the light strands" was my favorite line.

(SOTM) You'd think this would be an obvious choice of OS for a christmas parody, Jack...but you pretty much nailed it. Great job. 555

(SOTM) Nice job on this. For some reason I like "Our house is like Chevy Chase's / In the movie Christmas Vacation" -- an awkward sort-of rhyme but it works in my mind anyway.

(SOTM) "Neighbors complain that they're going blind" did remind me of Christmas Vacation. Fun and bright. 555
