The Lyrics

Another corona virus song
I DREAMED A DREAM

I dreamed a dream that had me scared,
I was at home self-isolating.
What made it worse was no-one cared,
I’m all alone, it’s quite frustrating.

If I went out then I’d be fined,
I’m out of food and need a shopper.
I want somebody to be kind,
Or else it seems I’ll come a cropper.

There’s so much I need to buy,
All the food I had ‘s been eaten.
I just want to sit and cry,
Is there anybody there…

I need some loo rolls right away,
And if you please I need detergent.
The house is going to decay,
The situation’s really bad.

As death tolls rise I fear the worst,
This dream I had was more a nightmare.
It seems to me the world is cursed,
And tell me please where it will end.

In truth I’m not that way at all,
And there is food in both my freezers.
As it’s not all what it might seem,
Life’s different from the dream I dreamed.

Toilet paper was the first commodity to vanish, followed by paper towels and tissue, which I assume were substituted for the vanished "loo paper". Municipal sewer systems started scooping up old tee shirts. Paper is back, in strange, cheaper grades. Bottled water has returned but hand sanitizer is only available on line or at very high prices. I'm hearing about shortages of beef.
