The Lyrics

Yes, yet another Clocks parody. There seems to be far too large a ratio of songs about chemistry as compared to physics, so I have here something to help even it a bit. A note: the places where the rhyming scheme seems off, it's because the scheme is off there in the original song. If you don't know the original, please don't vote me down for this, ok?
As you get near the speed of light,
Physics starts to get quite messed up,
I get down upon my knees
Prof, oh will you pass me please?

Cryin', homework's from things unsaid
In lecture, and it kills my head,
And our prof really can't explain;
Please don't make me check my grade.

Screamin'...

Confusion never stops
Shrinking sticks and slowing clocks
Gonna, get help on problem sets,
I'll fail my quizzes and my tests,

speedin', as you get close to c,
you deal with relativity.
Will I have to retake this class,
Or will I get a C or D?

Yellin'...

Oh physics is a bear,
Its work makes me dispair,
But I really don't care

Yooooooooooooo ohhhhhh
Yooooooooooooo ohhhhhh

D V over squaring of c
D V over squaring of c
D V over squaring of c
D V over squaring of c

I've been trying to come up with a parody to this song, but I keep giving up because the chorus (Oooooooh - Ah) doesn't give much to work with. But good job nonetheless, nem.

Even though it's kinda late, good job with this. I especially like the 'relativity' stanza.

Original and cute idea, I didn't like the pacing that much. Eh well.

By the way, all, I ended up getting something for the chorus after posting this... (Mu... huh?) (Mu... whuh?) (repeats)

(ABC) 5's

(ABCs) Not bad, but it didn't incite a ferverent love of physics either.
neminem - September 07, 2004 - Report this comment
It's not *supposed* to incite a fervent love of physics. I would be scared if it did, considering how close I came to failing that class, and how much I *didn't* have fun in it. ;-)

(ABC)My previous comment still stands.

(ABC) So all of us men ought to slow down a bit, unless we want to find ourselves getting shorter and shorter in the direction of motion.... ;-D

As a physics nerd, I liked this.

I don't even know basic physics (well, maybe!), but I enjoyed the read!

(ABC's) I thought the parody was fizzique'.

Incidentally, Johnny, your comment reminds me strongly of something one of my friends had up for a while on his white board:
Relativity and Drunkenness:
I. There is no preferred state of drunkenness.
II. The lethal BAC level is the same in all frames of reference.

As a result:
a. The time on earth appears to slow down in the drunk's frame of reference. According to sober people, it is the drunk who appears retarded.
b. To the drunken man his "length" appears longer in his frame where that of all other men appears shorter, and vise versa.
c. Two events that occur simultaneously on earth do not appear so in the drunk's frame. Similarly, two simultaneous events in the drunk's frame will not be according to the earth.

However, the most important discovery of all goes as follows:
"In my frame of reference, the rest of you fuckers are all drunk off your asses!!"

Oh, and thanks all for the votes.

try Bill Bryson's new book on science ... it is a real fun read!! but this is another good parody 5s

(ABC) -Nem, DKTOS on Coldplay - but it's an informative read, especially your recent comment clarifying a drunkard's view of things. clever read.

Well done with a tough song. Relatively enjoyable.
