The Lyrics

I'm getting very little response to my political parodies and social commentary songs. From what I can see, visitors to this site want songs about bodily functions and scatological material. So, I guess I'll give it a try and see if I have any better luck.
From the ancient open privies
To the days of Thomas Crapper*
We have gone from corn cobs and scratchy leaves
To scented tissue in a wrapper

Toilet! Toilet!
Greatest in the world
Into your opening
We tinkle, poo, and hurl

Come the urge and come the passing
Come the product left behind
All we do is push a button
It's out of sight and out of mind

Restroom! Restroom!
Sit down and close the door
In the stall beside you
Might be a Senator

Railroads, phones, electric lightbulbs
All were major innovations
But the most important we all use
Is water-powered sanitation

Men's Room! Men's Room
Urinals on the wall
Shoulder to shoulder
We answer Nature's Call!

Men's Room, Men's Room
Urinals on the wall
Shoulder to shoulder
We answer Nature's Call!
* Thomas Crapper is reputed to be the inventor of the modern flushing water closet. For the original song, go to youtube or watch PBS during fund raising week.

I liked this one - 555 -especially since it was an Irish song. Your comment is correct on lack of attention on political stuff - it is probably too painful for most

This doesn't seem to have drawn the deserved attention, either. Cute, and the Larry Craig mention made it topical. Thanks for pointing me here for the Craig Connection.
