I'm at the beach now, and I'm really surfing.
The waves are real good now, but some are unnerving.
A few are way too tall, and crash on top of me
I gotta fight so they don't take me way out to sea.

And then I hear the sound of a huge wave
Try to surf on it, but to my dismay
Fall into the ocean on my face
I feel the board slippin' away.

Trying to recover now
Find my board again.
But here comes another tall wave
I'm waitin'.
Waitin' for it to pass by
To weather it all right
My foot finds the board, and I
Slip out of sight.

And then I hear the sound of a huge wave
Should've avoided surfing today.
The other surfers wipe out, hey
It's impossible to surf today.

Well, I gave up on that
And drove north ninety miles.
Now, is it better up here?
No, waves are still wild.
Still try to surf again
Yeah, that's me.
Wave flips me up
Soar through the sky to the sea.

And I gave up on surfing today
Because of too many awful waves
I'll do a sweet trick tomorrow, hey
I don't feel really stoked, no way.

It was dumb to keep trying today
'Cause all in sight were 30 foot waves.
Felt the sand, water in my face
And now I'm quickly drivin' away
