The Lyrics

This Is My First Parody, And On The Front Page, I Saw The Thing About Someone Deleting Parody Data, So I Made This Parody.
You held your mouse, and typed a song. (A song)
It's a good thing that it didn't delete data by people like Will Tong. (Like Will Tong)
You 'spressed yourselves by writing all those parodies like ones called Bong Song.
Curse whoever made that stupid thing called the delete button.

Poor Arcade Junkie
His work was all funky.
So i have something to say! (Say Say Say Say)

Did you think that it would keep your data on this site? (Why Why Why Why Why)
Until July 28 I Would Think You'd Be Right! (Right Right Right Right Right)
Don't delete me from off this site.
Don't delete me off AMIRIGHT.
The delete button bites! (Bites Bites Bites Bites)

Emiloca
Spaff.com
Are some that the delete chose.

Mari and Rick Duncan
must be really bummin
they lost all those votes.

Then There Is Jake A. Ralphing.
Made parodies like Won
All this data lost makes us insane! (It Makes Us Insane)

But we will forgive ChuckyG
he did it accidently
but we still have our parodies
Today! (Today Today Today Today)

The delete button bites.
Hope you like it!

Nice inaugural effort.

Silver Power - A very good first effort, especially using an Avril Lavigne song - I've found her pacing is quite quirky sometimes and this song certainly falls into that category, but I thought you matched it very well. Your line "Did you think that it would keep your data on this site?" hit home for me since I had gotten too comfortable with the site in that regard and had stopped keeping my own tracking, but fortunately some others here maintained enough information that I was able to reconstruct the data I wanted to keep. And I have been keeping both hard-drive and printed copies of the actual parodies themselves. OH...your rating from me...right...5's...

Silver Power - I went back and listened to the whole song after I saw your remark about the pace. I initially rated it from memory and it seemed quite good to me. The first 3 sections are just about perfect, although the reader has to modulate the cadence a certain way if you do that it does work very well. Your pace does seem to get lost in the middle sections and I had trouble following it there, so that is something you might try to work on as a side project - seeing if you can do that as well as your did the "hook line" ("Did you think..."), opening and closing sections. So I probably would have marked you down on pace a bit had I listened to the song instead of working from memory. I gave this an extra listen just to see if I had any suggestions. Just small ones, really. Where you say "So I have something to say" It's OK, but I think it would flow a little better with "So now I have something to say". When your idea doesn't quite fill the line or cadence see if there is a connecting word like "now" that doesn't change your meaning but makes the pace & flow work more easily. There are a couple places where you could make that type of modification. But this was still a good piece of work in my opinion, especially for a first effort. Keep writing, I don't know too many current songs but if I do know them I'll look in and let you know what I think.

Could someone record this parody? RAD and MAD, Spaff.com, me, someone? please? well, if you do, leave a note here.

We used to care about the votes, but the longer you are here, the less important they get. We don't usually comment (or record) "Amiright" themed parodies. We like things that any audience can relate to, and that have "staying power". Keep writing, and responses will come.

Incidentally, Will Tong did lose something more than 5k votes... I guess he'll just have to live with the 26k from the old stuff ;-) I'm gonna have to raid my children's Avril collection to see if I can find the original for this song...

Thanks for the mention, but my parody 'Won' should have been 'Won't You Forgive Me', I don't know what happened to the end of the title when I submitted it. This one was much better paced than your Couch Potato one, but you've still got room for improvement.
