copyright 2005+ Red Ant The parody was originally going to be how I didn't like this song or Audioslave in general but as I listened to them more they grew on me. I was expecting Soundgarden at first, which they are not (hence the "Doesn't remind me of Soundgarden"). Anyway, I like Audioslave now. For those that don't know, Chris Cornell was the lead singer for Soundgarden (and now sings for Audioslave) and Kim Thayil was the guitarist. Tom Morello (formerly of Rage Against The Machine) is Audioslave's guitarist. *Interpret these lines as you see fit

Geez, Red, I don't know either group but with your bottom comments I COULD evaluate and vote on this...IF I knew the OS...which I don't...but I DO understand the point. For years I thought a certain U2 song was actually done by REM...and when I was trying to find the OS lyrics to do a parody I was temporarily flummoxed that I couldn't find them...and the reason for my confusion? The first time I ever heard the song was when I saw it done "Live" (a recorded version of a "live" performance) on VH1 or MTV a few years back...and I recognized Michael Stipe of REM as one of the singers...but I didn't recognize Bono from U2 at the time...he was ALSO singing. So I thought it was an REM song...wrong.

Thanks for the look Paul. This was only the second Audioslave song I've heard ("Be Yourself" was the first, its excellent). When I first heard this OS, this parody title immediately came to my mind. I guess one would have to know both this OS and a fair amount of SG's work to be able to rate this parody, giving this parody an incredibly limited chance vote-wise, but a thoughtful comment is better than a vote anyday.

I didn't know that Michael Stipe and U2 did a song together, though I'll admit U2 and REM aren't my favorite bands and more to the point I seldomly watch MTV anymore.

Red - it was just for a Benefit Concert somewhere...and it had to have been maybe in 2001 or 2002, I think (could be wrong though, be it's certainly before 2003 because I lived somewhere else when I saw it and I've been in this location since Aug. 2002). I really don't know too much U2 or REM myself, although I've decided to delve a little more deeply into both those groups since I used one of each of their songs for parodies in the last few months...they were good vehicles for serious pieces...always interested in finding more of those.

Thanks Paul and Step-chan. This CD came out May 24 2005 and hit #1 in the US and this could possibly be the newest OS to be parodied here.

Good parody, Red... I like Audioslave's new album more than the first one. Out of Exile sounds a lot like Temple of the Dog.

I firmly believe Audioslave is a band that might be around for awhile. I really like their stuff even if it isn't as hard as their predecessors (Soundgarden and RATM).
